Bulletin 2 January 5th – January 18th 2023
We had been receiving multiple reports in Oxted of a male causing issues within the local community. As a result of his continued behaviours, on Monday 9th January he was issued with a Community Protection Warning.
One of the conditions set out in this notice was for the male 'Not to enter the town of Oxted, Surrey'.
If the conditions are not adhered to then we will be progressing this matter further.
Please report all incidents of anti-social behaviour to us.
Whilst we may not attend every report, we do log them which assist us with future interventions.
Inspector Lyndsey Whatley Tandridge Safer Neighbourhood Inspector
On Friday, 6th January, police were made aware of a man collapsed in the road on High Street, Dormansland. Officers attended, along with South East Coast Ambulance, but a man in his 80s was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. We can now confirm that his death was due to natural causes and, as such, we are no longer appealing for further information or asking for witnesses to come forward. Our thanks to anyone who shared previous appeals for information. Our thoughts remain with the man’s next of kin.
CRIME REPORTS IN YOUR NEIGHBOURHOOD
Our Neighbourhood Patrol Team and Safer Neighbourhood Team deal with a variety of incidents. Here are a few they dealt with since the last Bulletin.
There were 21 Arrests excluding Voluntary Attendance Interviews in the period January 3rd to January 16th : Domestic Abuse 9 , Violent Domestic Abuse 2 , Immigration 2, ,Alcohol related 1, Prescribed Limit Offence 1 , Drunk in Charge 1, Rape/Serious Sexual Offence 1, Violent Crime Public Place 1, Theft 1, Burglary 1, Attempted Burglary 1
A Horley man has been charged with robbery and has been remanded in custody. Scott Hall, 30, was charged two weeks ago and is due to appear at court on 31st January. We are continuing to investigate following a robbery at the Co-Op store in Warlingham on 21st December where alcohol and cigarettes were stolen
A female was arrested in Lingfield on January 11th after a road traffic collision after she failed a roadside breath test.
On January 12th in Oxted a male driver was arrested after failing to provide a breath test and assaulting an emergency worker.
A male was arrested in a store in Caterham on January 14th for common assault and theft.

Burglary Business and Community
Tandridge Lane, Lingfield. Around 05.41 January 1st two storage containers were broken into and two electrical winches and other items were stolen (ref 45230001590).
Mutton Hill, Dormansland – Criminal Damage. Between January 9th and 10th the driver’s side window of a car was smashed by a ball bearing (ref 45230003413).
GODSTONE AND SOUTH NUTFIELD
Vehicle Crime Ridge Green Close, South Nutfield – Theft. Overnight January 4th to 5th index plates M29WGJ were stolen from a car (ref 45230001546).
Mid Street, South Nutfield – Keyless Theft. Overnight January 11th to 12th a grey Abarth 595 Competition vehicle index GF70XLK was stolen (ref 45230004103).
Oxted Road, Godstone – Theft. Overnight January 10th to 11th index plate LX69OCD was stolen (ref 45230004304).
OXTED, TITSEY, LIMPSFIELD , LIMPSFIELD CHART AND HURST GREEN
Burglary including sheds and garages
Treveux Hill, Limpsfield Chart. Between January 4th and 6th suspects climbed up a drainpipe and entered a house after smashing a rear first floor glass door. After an untidy search they use a pillow case to carry a considerable amount of jewellery and a watch (ref 45230002349).
Burglary Business and Community
Pilgrims Lane, Titsey. Overnight January 6th to 7th padlocks were cut on a number of shipping containers and power tools and chainsaws were among a number of items stolen (ref 45230002337).
Theft
Holland Road, Hurst Green. Around 08.50 January 12th a tall white male, blue hooded jacket, white hat, grey joggers, green wellington boots and wearing blue surgical gloves walked up a drive and stole a pair of trainers and can of de- icer from the front porch of a property (ref 45230004221).
Criminal Damage
Barnetts Shaw, Hurst Green. Around 19.10 January 10th three windows were damaged by projectiles (ref 45230003629).
Vehicle Crime
Godstone Road, Oxted –Keyless Theft. Overnight January 4th to 5th a black and silver Mercedes Sprinter van with sign writing saying “ SET 2” index LM17WNL was stolen (ref 45230001561). Pollards Wood Road, Hurst Green – Criminal Damage. Overnight January 6th to 7th the driver’s door window of a car was smashed (ref 45230002456).
New Road, Limpsfield – Theft. Overnight January 10th to 11th a catalytic converter was stolen from a car (ref 45230004135).
Coldshott, Hurst Green – Criminal Damage. Overnight January 17th to 18th the two front windows of a car were smashed (ref 45230006417).
CATERHAM, CATERHAM ON THE HILL, WHYTELEAFE AND CHALDON
Burglary including sheds and garages
Stafford Road, Caterham. Overnight January 6th to 7th access was gained to a property under renovation by a male height 5ft to 6ft tall, mauve hoodie, black gloves and grey tracksuit but nothing was stolen (ref 45230002388).
Burglary Business and Community
Willey Lane, Chaldon. Overnight January 5th to 6th a stables was broken into and saddles, bridles and other items were stolen (ref 45230002090).
Essendene Road, Caterham. Between January 6th and 9th the glass in the rear door of a school was smashed to gain entry and after an untidy search a safe containing cash and other items was stolen (ref 45230002906).
Vehicle Crime
War Coppice Road, Caterham – Theft. Overnight January 6th to7th index plates T700CAE were stolen from a car (ref 45230002361).
Markville Gardens, Caterham – Criminal Damage. Between January 13th and 15th nails were inserted in the tyres of five vehicles (ref 45230005447).
Croydon Road, Caterham – Theft. Overnight January 16th to 17th a number of items were stolen from a vehicle (ref 45230006053).
Brigade Place, Caterham on The Hill – Theft. Around midnight January 7th the rear offside panel of a vehicle was bent inwards and items were stolen from another van together with an off side door mirror being stolen from a car (ref 45230002475). Around 11.45 January 12th the rear window wiper of a car was ripped off and all six wiper jets on the front windscreen were blocked and damaged (ref 45230004187).
Eldon Road, Caterham on The Hill – Theft. Overnight January 13th to 14th index plates NG64KDN were stolen from a car (ref 45230004996).
Campbell Road, Caterham on The Hill – Theft. Around 02.00 January 16th index plates DY68PSO were stolen from a car (ref 45230005717).
Spencer Road, Caterham on the Hill – Theft. Overnight January 14th to 15th index plates ET65ENW were stolen from a car (ref 45230005257).
Hillside Road, Whyteleafe – Keyless Theft. Between January 6th and 9th a white Vauxhall Vivara index AF58BUE was stolen (ref 45230002918).
Godstone Road, Whyteleafe – Theft and Criminal Damage. Overnight January 10th to 11th the windscreen wipers of two cars were damaged, a front offside tyre on one was damaged and three index plates stolen from cars of which two were found (ref 45230003726/3704/3689/3672/3805).
WARLINGHAM
Burglary including sheds and garages
Limpsfield Road, Warlingham. Between 15.40 and 16.00 a suspect entered a first floor maisonette through an open window and a small amount of cash was stolen (ref 45230002849).
Robbery Succombs Hill, Warlingham. Around 13.44 January 6th whilst the victim was working in a garden a black Ford Focus ST on cloned index plates drove into the property. Two suspects then jumped out and into the victim’s van which was unlocked and had the keys in the ignition. They threatened the victim with a blunt object before driving of in the van which was fitted with a Tracker. The van was later found in Addington minus the contents of strimmers, lawn mowers, chainsaw and other tools (ref 45230002022).
Burglary Business and Community
Chelsham Road, Warlingham. Around 11.50 January 11th two males in a dull black Ford Focus ST drove to a barn and stole two Stihl strimmers (ref 45230003811).
Limpsfield Road, Warlingham. Overnight January 10th to 11th shipping containers on a building site were broken into a power tools stolen (ref 45230003912).
Vehicle Crime Landscape Road, Warlingham – Theft. Between 09.20 and 10.20 January 5th an electric strimmer and petrol ball strimmer were stolen from a van (ref 45230001588).
