🚨 Protect yourself from cash machine fraud |

Criminals are becoming increasingly sophisticated in the ways they target cash machines, using devices designed to steal card details and, when used alongside hidden cameras or other methods to capture PINs, can be used to withdraw money from victims' accounts. While these incidents remain uncommon, a few moments of awareness can make all the difference.
Elmbridge Borough Commander Inspector Chris Thoday said: "We want everyone to feel confident when using cash machines, but it's important to remain vigilant. Taking a few extra seconds to check that an ATM looks secure and shielding your PIN can help prevent you becoming a victim of fraud. If something doesn't seem right, trust your instincts, don't use the machine and report it."
