The Whyteleafe Tavern has been temporarily closed following a suspension of its premises licence.

The Whyteleafe Tavern in Whyteleafe has been temporarily closed following a suspension of its premises licence.

This follows four separate incidents reported to police between March 2024 and July 2025. These either took place at the pub itself or involved persons who had been at the pub just prior to the offences. Each incident is alleged to have involved violence, serious injury, and the use of weapons.

The decision to suspend the premises licence followed a summary review application by Surrey Police to Tandridge District Council.

Subject to an appeal, the premises will remain shut pending the outcome of a review hearing by the district council as the licensing authority. This is due to be held by the end of this month.
