Surrey’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Lisa Townsend, has joined officers on patrol in Guildford and Waverley as part of a new operation tackling retail crime. As part of the initiative, plain-clothed Behaviour Detection Officers were deployed to spot suspicious activity in shops across both boroughs. Uniformed officers also patrolled town centres, speaking with retail workers and making searches of anyone believed to have been involved in criminality. 📽️ Commissioner joins officers on retail crime patrol in Guildford and Waverley as survey closes Lisa said: “I am in no doubt that retail crime has a significant impact to its victims, who are caused financial, emotional, and sometimes physical harm. “The campaign I have joined uses plain-clothed officers who blend in with the public to spot suspicious behaviour and halt offenders in their tracks.” Read more here 👇
