Have you noticed the Red X signal when driving on motorways?

It’s there for your safety and it’s illegal to ignore it.

The Red X sign is key to supporting safety on motorways. It tells you when a lane is closed, helping any drivers and their passengers who may have got into difficulty. It also provides a safe place to work for the emergency services, recovery operators and our road workers.

Most drivers respect the Red X signal. But those who don’t put themselves and other road users at real risk.

It’s time to spring into action and burglar proof your property.

Defensive planting can make life more difficult for burglars and make your property less attractive as a potential target🪴

🌻Lower fences at the front of your property, around one metre high is actually better than high fences as it means the burglars have nowhere to hide.

🌻At the rear and sides, taller fencing is recommended to prevent access.

🌻Trellis, thorny plants or plastic spikes make it difficult for anyone attempting to climb over a fence.

🌻Planting prickly or barbed shrubbery along boundaries and fence lines can make an effective, natural barrier.

🌻Gravel pathways will make sure you hear anyone approach.

So, make the most of the sunshine, and get planting!
