First off, check your home insurance covers the contents of any shed, garage or outbuilding from theft. Ensure any security lights or CCTV are in working order, and consider a battery-operated shed alarms. Next up, take a look at your shed and consider the steps you could take to make it more secure, whether that be securing windows with wire mesh or grills, or investing in a strong padlock with no exposed screws.

Surrey Police has been working closely with the City of London Police and other forces in a national crackdown to combat fraudulent activity. Over the span of one month, the City of London Police co-ordinated a large-scale operation, with other forces including Surrey Police participating in multiple early morning search warrants and seizures. The coordinated actions led to 422 arrests nationwide, as well as the seizure of cash and assets valued at an impressive £7.5 million. Detective Sergeant Ben Kirby commented on the operation, stating, “Whilst we are pleased to have been able to support this important operation, we know that protecting the public against fraud and targeting offenders is an ongoing job, and we will continue to be relentless in our pursuit of the organised criminals involved in these frauds.”
