Keep yourself safe from vehicle theft!

Dear resident,

You might think it safe to leave your car unlocked and unattended, whether you are popping into a shop, or you feel as though the area is safe.

Unfortunately, we’ve received a number of reports in recent weeks concerning theft from vehicles and want to offer some advice to ensure you and your belongings are safe and secure.

  • Park your car in a well-used and well-lit area. Criminals are less likely to target your vehicle if they stand a higher chance of being seen.
  • Don’t leave valuables in your vehicle and keep windows closed and doors locked.
  • Choose your car park carefully – See if you can park near to CCTV cameras or in a secure car park. Visit the Park Mark website for guidance. A ‘Park Mark’ means the site has been assessed and vetted by police.
  • Keep keys away from doors and windows. As a rule, if thieves can see keys through a window or letterbox, they can steal them.
  •

    Kind Regards,
