We are appealing for witnesses following a report of stalking and sexual assault in Chertsey last week. This occurred between 1pm and 2pm on Thursday, 23 January, in Sainsbury's on Guildford Road, when the suspect sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl and a 20-year-old woman while they were shopping. A male member of the public intervened and asked the suspect to exit the store and leave the victims alone. A 38-year-old man from Chertsey has been arrested in connection with this incident and he remains in police custody. We are now interested in speaking to any individuals who may have witnessed the incident, particularly the male member of the public who helped the victims.
