Shoplifting, police visibility and preventing crime were among the topics raised at Waverley's Policing Your Community roadshow held last week. Waverley residents had the opportunity to share their views on crime and policing with Police and Crime Commissioner Lisa Townsend, Surrey Police’s Chief Constable Tim De Meyer, and Waverley’s Borough Commander Inspector Rob Brian. The evening began with updates from the Force. Inspector Brian shared his plans to earn trust and protect vulnerable people, target those who cause the most harm in our communities and work with partners to prevent and solve crime. He spoke about recent successes in the borough, including numerous warrants, tackling county lines, and close partnership working. Questions were asked on a range of topics, including: 🚔 Shoplifting 🚔 Police visibility 🚔 Reporting crime online 🚔 What residents can do to work with the police to help prevent crime 🚔 Knife crime 🚔 The role of CCTV in helping to catch perpetrators of crime
For those who were unable to attend, an online Policing Your Community event will take place on Monday, 13 January next year. To sign up to the online event, or any of the remaining in-person meetings, visit Surrey Police’s dedicated webpage:
