Hundreds of Surrey Heath homes have been visited by police during burglary patrols in the borough. Officers with the Surrey Heath Safer Neighbourhood Team have delivered prevention advice and alarms to around 400 addresses in the past few weeks. Two members of the team have also requested to move permanently to the late shift to better support affected residents. The county’s Police and Crime Commissioner Lisa Townsend joined officers, PCSOs and volunteers for a patrol last week as properties in Camberley, Windlesham, Frimley, Lightwater, and West End and Bisley were visited. The shift took place days after senior Surrey Police leaders told of their efforts to bring burglars to justice at the ninth Policing Your Community event in Frimley.
