Surrey Heath residents have their say on crime and policing

Residential burglaries, anti-social behaviour, parking and reporting crime were among the issues raised during the Policing Your Community roadshow in Surrey Heath this week.

Residents had the opportunity to share their views on crime and policing with Police and Crime Commissioner Lisa Townsend, Surrey Police’s Chief Constable Tim De Meyer, Divisional Commander Becky Molyneux and Borough Commander Gemma Taylor.

The evening began with a Force-wide update from the Chief Constable, before Insp Taylor shared news of ongoing work in the borough around burglaries and additional patrols, anti-social behaviour and tool thefts.

Questions were asked on a range of topics, including:
•    Anti-social parking, especially around village schools
•    Concerns over a spike in burglaries within the borough
•    How local authorities can work with Surrey Police to resolve anti-social issues
•    Encouraging more people to report suspicious activity or crime
•    Protecting young people from cybercrime.

We’d like to thank everyone who joined us at the Frimley Community Centre on Monday (2 December).

For those unable to attend, an online Policing Your Community event will take place on 13 January next year. To sign up for this online event or any remaining in-person meetings, please visit Surrey Police’s dedicated Policing Your Community webpage.
