Fraud, confidence to report and police visibility were among the topics raised at Woking’s Policing Your Community roadshow held last week. Woking residents had the opportunity to share their views on crime and policing with Police and Crime Commissioner Lisa Townsend, Surrey Police’s Chief Constable Tim De Meyer, and Borough Commander Ed Lyons. The evening began with updates from the Force, and Insp Lyons shared his plans to earn trust and protect vulnerable people, target those who cause the most harm in our communities and work with partners to prevent and solve crime. He spoke of recent successes in the borough, including numerous warrants, house closures and disrupting Organised Crime Groups.
Questions were asked on a range of topics, including: Fraud and scamming of vulnerable people How we can better encourage public to report Police visibility and how crime has changed Cuckooing How data impacts our policing
We’d like to thank everyone who joined us at Greenfield School, Woking.
For those who were unable to attend, an online Policing Your Community event will take place on January 13 next year. To sign up to the online event, or any of the remaining in-person meetings, visit Surrey Police’s dedicated webpage | ||||
