Dozens of residents have their say at policing roadshow in Woking

🚓 Officer visibility, fraud and how Surrey Police communicates with those who report crime were among the issues raised during the seventh stop on the Policing Your Community roadshow this week.

Woking residents had the opportunity to share their views on crime and policing with Police and Crime Commissioner Lisa Townsend, Surrey Police’s Chief Constable Tim De Meyer and Borough Commander Ed Lyons.

The evening began with updates from the Force, and Insp Lyons shared news of recent successes in the borough, including three house closures in the past three months.

He also revealed recent police activity to tackle two organised criminal groups (OCGs), one of which was exploiting local children and young people into dealing drugs.

Questions were then asked on a range of topics, including:

🔴 How the Force tackles fraud

🔴 The counter service currently offered in Woking

🔴 Visible police patrols, particularly on the roads

🔴 Savings that must be achieved by Surrey Police

🔴 Support offered to victims when cuckooing is reported

🔴 The communication between Surrey Police and those who report crime

We’d like to thank all those who joined the team at Greenfield School in Old Woking Road.

For those who were unable to attend, an online Policing Your Community event will take place on January 13 next year.

The next Policing Your Community event will take place in Elmbridge on Monday, November 18.
