We will be escorting an abnormal load containing an electricity transformer through Essex, Kent, and Surrey tomorrow evening (Saturday, 16 November). The unit requires a police escort due to its extended width and weight: the load is 5.5 metres wide and weighs a total of around 437 tonnes when combined with its transport. The load will begin its journey from Tilbury Dock in Essex at around 6pm and travel southbound over the Dartford Crossing via the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge. It will then travel along the M25 to junction 3 before heading east on the M20 and A20, before joining the M26 westbound followed by the M25. The load will exit the M25 at junction 11 where it will take the A320 to the Six Cross Roads Roundabout. It will need to travel the wrong way around this roundabout before taking the A245 towards Weybridge. The load will join Woodham Lane before and then the A318 southbound to its final destination. We hope that this will all be completed by 1am on Sunday, 17 November. We anticipate some temporary localised traffic disruption along the route on the Saturday evening. While this will be kept to a minimum, please be aware if you are travelling Saturday evening and your journey covers any part of this route and leave extra time to travel where possible. | ||||
