๐ŸŽƒ ๐Ÿ‘ป Trick or treat! Commissioner joins Halloween patrol in Runnymede ๐Ÿ“ฝ๏ธ

Surrey's Police and Crime Commissioner has joined a Halloween patrol with Runnymede's Safer Neighbourhood Team - as she warned anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated.

Lisa Townsend had the opportunity to see the team in action dealing with some serious incidents - and making sure they also took the time to chat with young trick or treaters.

Surrey Police launched additional patrols this Halloween after significant disorder in Ashford in 2023. A dispersal order, which enables police and PCSOs to direct trouble-makers away from an area for 48 hours, was also in place for much of Spelthorne.

The Commissioner said: "Working with our communities so they feel safe in Surrey is a hugely important part of the policing role, and it was wonderful to see that in action during the evening.

"Last Halloween, we saw some absolutely disgraceful behaviour in Ashford, during which fireworks were thrown at members of the public, police officers and vehicles.

โ€œIncidents like these have no place in Surrey, and the Force has responded with additional patrols so that swift and decisive action can be taken.โ€
