Crime prevention advice: https://www.surrey.police.uk/cp/crime-prevention/A couple of weeks ago, Mole Valley residents had the opportunity to share their views on crime and policing with Police and Crime Commissioner Lisa Townsend, Surrey Police’s Chief Constable Tim De Meyer, and Borough Commander James Green.
Anti-social driving, police visibility, and CCTV were among the topics raised during the fourth stop on the Policing Your Community roadshow on 22 October. We’d like to thank everyone who joined us at Therfield School in Leatherhead.
The evening began with updates from the Force, where Inspector Green shared news of recent successes in the borough, including targeted burglary patrols and a crackdown on shoplifters. The Inspector also revealed his plans for the coming 12 months, which include building closer relationships with rural communities, focusing on anti-social behaviour, and cracking down on business crime.
For those unable to attend, an online Policing Your Community event will take place on January 13 next year. To sign up for this online event or any remaining in-person meetings, please visit the link below

A prolific burglar has been jailed for four years after being found guilty to committing a burglary in Ashtead earlier this year.
Anthony Moriarty, 38, dob 10/02/1986, of Hulveston Close in Sutton, was sentenced at Guildford Crown Court on Wednesday, 30 October, after he was found hiding in the bedroom of the home he was burgling.

After eight long years, a gorgeous Cocker Spaniel called Daisy, who was stolen from her home in Dorking in Mole Valley back in 2016, has now been reunited with her owners.
Daisy, who was one at the time, was stolen along with three other dogs in November 2016, after thieves took the working gun dogs from the garden kennels they were housed in.
Tragically one of the dogs was killed after being hit by a car as it tried to escape and the other two stolen dogs have never been located, despite best efforts from officers. In a surreal turn of events, and nearly eight years to the day since Daisy was taken, officers were alerted on Tuesday 29 October, that someone had tried to update her microchip details. Our rural crime officer PC Laura Rowley immediately contacted the microchip company to obtain the details of the new owners.
Just two days later officers from the Mole Valley Safer Neighbourhood team completed a three hour round trip to bring Daisy back to Surrey and her owners. They said, "Daisy had been rehomed in good faith by the new owners and they were unaware of the theft of Daisy. “We brought Daisy, who is now slightly deaf, back to the Mole Valley Safer Neighbourhood Team Office and there was not a dry eye in the house when she was reunited with her owners. She recognised them immediately and stuck to them like glue!"
Sadly, the other dogs, Tilly a black working Cocker Spaniel, and Storm a patchy white Patterdale Terrier, remain missing and are believed to be elderly or have possibly passed away due to their age at the time of the theft. However, if you have any information that may be relevant, please contact us quoting PR/45160097926.
A man has been sentenced to nine months in prison after being found guilty of causing death by careless driving. Tomasz Arendt, 33 (DOB: 29/03/1991), was arrested in January 2022, after a collision involving a motorcyclist. On the morning on 15 January 2022, the motorcyclist had been riding along the A25 Reigate Road, Brockham, when they lost control and crossed onto the opposite side of the carriageway, falling from the bike. Ardent, who was travelling along the A25 from the opposite direction, failed to see other road-users warning him of the injured motorcyclist, striking him and causing fatal injuries. Arendt, of Reigate, was sentenced to nine months in prison at Lewes Crown Court last Thursday (31 October). Detective Constable Marlon Nolan, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “The lack of attention and consideration for other road-users by Arendt, partnered with his careless driving, has caused the untimely death of a young man. He should have been more alert to the road and weather conditions, as well as road-users indicating a hazard. “As with all outcomes, we must remember that someone has lost their life. We recognise this sentence will not be an outcome the victim’s family would have hoped for but hope it can provide some closure for them. Our thoughts remain with them at this time.”
