Whyteleafe Witness Appeal

We are appealing for witnesses after an assault in Whyteleafe on Wednesday evening 30th October.

At 5.30pm, officers were called to The Whyteleafe Tavern on the A22 Godstone Road after a man in his 30s was seriously assaulted outside the pub.

The victim was taken to hospital with stab wounds and has since been released.

A 43-year-old man from Whyteleafe has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

Detective Inspector Jo Horner said: “There was a significant police presence in the area last night while police attended the scene, which resulted in the pub being shut for the evening. We want to reassure you that our teams are working hard to understand what happened and if you have any information that can help our investigation, please let us know.”

We are looking to speak with anyone who witnessed the assault or who was driving along the A22 Godstone Road between 5.30pm and 6.30pm and may have dashcam footage.

If you have any information that might assist our investigation, please contact us quoting PR/ 45240124747
