We are pleased to confirm the missing 37-year-old man from Leatherhead has now been found.

Thank you to all who shared our appeal. Please delete original post and details.

Last week, a local gamekeeper alerted police to a digger hidden in woodland on Leith Hill. Thanks to some partnership work with property marking company Datatag ID Limited, officers were able to confirm that it had been reported as stolen from Alfold the week before and arrange for the owner to come and recover the digger.

We cannot overstate how valuable the eyes and ears of the community are in helping us tackle plant machinery theft and other rural crime offences. If you see or hear anything suspicious that you think we should be aware of, you can report it via our website: http://spkl.io/6187f6NJF

Locals may have seen an increase in patrols in Great Bookham recently, which come in response to community concerns surrounding anti-social behaviour and the distribution of drugs.

Investigating Officer, PC Zoe Helm from the Mole Valley Safer Neighbourhoods Team, said:

“The local community’s support in reporting incidents enables us to target our ASB patrols where issues are most prevalent. I would like to encourage residents to keep reporting their concerns to us as, with their help, action can be taken.”

Earlier this month on 15 August, a 19-year-old man on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

The arrest followed a stop by officers on patrol and in marked cars. The man from Bookham was also arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.

He has been released under investigation.

After receiving an increase in reports of ASB and theft in Leatherhead, last week, PC Bailey and PC Storey patrolled the town centre, engaging with the local community. Remember, if you need to report a crime, you can do so via DM or live chat on our website http://spkl.io/6189fBRtb

Relay Theft: Use a pouch: When not in use either at home, when out and about or on holiday – store your keys in a security pouch. Security pouches are sometimes termed Faraday bags or RFID signal Fob Blocker/shields, these pouches will prevent the signal from your vehicle from being captured using electronic devices.

It's been happening for a while as this West Midlands Police Video Demonstrates https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pffcngJJq0&t=58s

Protect yourself from mobile phone theft 👍

Don’t leave your phone, iPad, tablet, or camera unattended, out of your sight, or left on a table. Thieves can grab a phone from a table in seconds.

Be aware of your surroundings and only use your mobile when it feels safe to.

When you’ve finished using it, put it away.

Government figures show that, in the year to March, an estimated 78,000 people had their phone or bag grabbed on the street, up from 31,000 the year before.
